the simple joy of provocation
fills these empty days pass by

i am of course familiar
with the color of my wee
by morning, it compares by far
to a strained cup of jasmin tea

but this week, while feeling mediocre
the shades of my wake up pee
gets as dark as ochre
darker than i have ever seen

maybe it is a side effect
from having C or the vaccine
i for sure did not expect
these fifty shades of my urine
